More than 80 percent or 3,913 hectares of the 4,790 land area of Amadeo are planted with coffee, thus without doubt, the abundance of coffee makes it as the coffee capital of the Philippines.

Because of its immense potential for economic growth, Gov. Jonvic Remulla and the different cooperatives including coffee experts have put great emphasis on the province’s coffee industry.
The provincial government earmarked an initial funding of P5 million for the development of close to 1,200 hectares of coffee plantation under the “Adopt-a-Coffee Farm” program in the upland areas of the province, particularly in the towns of Amadeo, Alfonso, Indang and Bailen (Emilio Aguinaldo) to attract potential private individuals into coffee growing business and continue the trade of the commodity.
The concept of the program that originated in Amadeo three years ago, allows private individuals to lease and operate coffee farmlands at annual rate of P10,000 per hectare.
Due to the upward trend of the coffee industry in the world market, the town of Amadeo maximized the potentials of the land for coffee production giving birth to “Pahimis Coffee Festival” held every second week of February as offering of thanksgiving to God for the bountiful harvest.
Visitors witnessing the festival will enjoy the festive atmosphere. The street dancers participating in the festival are all dressed in coffee costumes, and of course, the aroma of an overflowing cup of the famous “Kapeng Barako.”
Other than coffee, the town is proud to showcase the beauty of nature deep inside the quiet and peaceful town. Balite Falls, an eco-tourism zone situated in Barangay Tamakan, visitors will wonder on the beautiful natural formation, the twin cascades that provide a perfect mix of activity and leisure. The waterfalls and the river are so invigorating that once experiencing it, you will never want to leave the water.
Another heritage in the town is the Saint Mary Magdalene Parish Church built in 1872. The restoration of the church was completed with proceeds from coffee beans. It is now more impressive and become an inspiring symbol of how faith can do great things.
In all perspective, the initiative of the provincial government and the current administration of Amadeo, the coffee industry in this premier province will prosper and continue to be competitive in the world market.
