Last Earth Day, employees gathered up at Pico Beach and took area assignments for the thorough clean-up. This initiative happens on a quarterly basis, or as frequent as possible.The property also welcomes guests to participate and learn more about Pico’s commitment to responsible tourism and its aim to minimize its environmental footprint by promoting eco-conscious actions.
Monthly Azurea Garden Clean-Up with employees
Azurea Garden is an in-house resource of fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables of Pico Sands Hotel and Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club. This highly sustainable initiative allows our chefs to curate which items are best grown in the property, and with the help of our sustainability champions, make sure the garden is maintained properly.
The garden clean-up day involved various activities such as weeding, planting new herb, fruits, vegetables and shrubs, and collecting debris. With representatives from all departments, employees worked diligently to refresh the Azurea Garden. There is huge effort given to having team members understand Pico’s sustainability priorities, so they can embrace them in their own lives and influence others too.
