The Department of Tourism (DOT) will host the 11th Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX 2011) on August 30 to September 02, 2011 at the SMX Convention Center.
Philippine Travel Exchange 2011
“As one of the flagship projects of the Department for 11 years now, the Philippine Travel Exchange is a testament to the Philippines’ continued success in communicating to the world of the country’s tourism prowess,” says DOT Secretary Alberto Lim.
More than 200 foreign buyers from Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, North America, Canada, Europe, Russia, Middle East, India and the ASEAN countries will attend this event which will showcase what the Philippines has to offer to the rest of the world.
With the main objective of sustaining the growth of inbound tourist arrivals in the Philippines, PHITEX provides a venue for foreign buyers of tourism products and services to transact business with Philippine sellers on one-on-one scheduled appointments during the Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) on September 01, 2011.
At the same time, the foreign buyers will experience fun and exciting activities during the pre- and post- tours to key Philippine attractions and destinations.
The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), the promotions arm of the DOT, will likewise conduct seminars that will provide interested seller-participants information on current development in international tourism marketplace to equip them for their meetings.
Targeted seller-participants include representatives from Philippine airlines, tour operators, hotel and resorts, convention facilities, incentive organizers, congress organizers, among others.
