Traveling can wreak havoc on any weight loss goal. You are out of your daily routine, and oftentimes in a place where you don’t have instant access to the types of foods you are accustomed to. In fact, it’s not uncommon to come back from vacation with an extra five pounds. This is very discouraging if you are actively trying to lose weight. To prevent a leisurely vacation from sabotaging your weight loss goals, consider a few tips to keep you on track.
Keep Up the Nutrition
When you travel, it’s easy to want to try all the fried foods and sweets you can get your hands on. They’re delicious and convenient, and many people consume these foods with a justification that they deserve them because they are on vacation.
While vacation certainly is a time to lay back and relax, this type of mentality will derail your weight loss goals. It is best to stick with low-fat, nutritious foods that won’t sabotage your diet. Even if you don’t have a nutrition label, you can still guess at a food’s nutritional value by how it’s cooked and what ingredients are in it. Hone in on meals with fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats and low levels of salt. Also avoid fried foods at all costs.
Increase Your Activity Level
Whether you’re traveling for business or are on a vacation, you will need to keep up your activity levels in order to achieve your weight loss goals. If you are super active at home, you should keep up the work while traveling. This doesn’t mean you need to get a one-week gym membership in the town you’re staying in. Taking walks in new neighborhoods, swimming, bicycling and doing push-ups are all ways you can keep fit while traveling away from home. Plus, this will make you feel more energized after a long plane ride.
Choose the Right Diet Plan
Most diet plans only work when you’re at home. However, if you want to lose weight and maintain it over the long term, what good is a plan that only works when you’re within your own postal code? Out of all the diet systems that are available, the Sensa Weight-Loss System is one of the few that you can actually travel with. You can stay on track with your goals no matter where you are in the globe.
Sensa create new lifestyle habits and it works by curbing your appetite with a specially formulated powder your sprinkle on your foods. Also called “tastants,” these flavor-enhancing powders work on a wide range of foods. This process works well when you are out of your own time zone and away from the usual foods you eat because you can sprinkle the powder on any meal or snack. Sensa works with your sense of smell to help you eat less at each meal so you lose calories and subsequent pounds over time. Even better, this system comes in a portable shaker that is small enough to fit in even the tiniest purse or bag as you travel the world.
