Caraga Madyaw Karadjao - Wow Philippines Events Intramuros

The Department of Tourism invites the public to catch the site and sound of Region XIII at the “WOW Philippines! Best of the Regions,” Clamshell I in Intramuros, Manila, which runs from November 6-22.

Madyaw karadjao, a mixture of Surigao and Butuan dialect, which means the best of beauty and greatness, is what people can expect once they visit the “Best of CARAGA” in Intramuros.

The façade of Clamshell I feature a replica of the famous four-tiered waterfalls of Bislig City, Surigao del Sur called the Tinuy-an Falls. Inside Clamshell 1 the refreshing attraction is complemented with the reproduction of Mabua pebble beach of Surigao City, which is a kilometer-long stretch of multi-sized pebble beach.

Butuan City has its collection of Chinese ceramics, jewelry and other artifacts dating as early as the Ming and Ching dynasties in which some were brought here on display together with the replica of the Golden Tara, which is a mythical Hindu entity found in the early 40’s in the banks of Wawa river.

Likewise, in the exhibit is the Agusan Marsh of Surgao del Sur, the largest marshland in the Philippines holding up to 15% of the country’s freshwater. This mystical wetland is the home of the indigenous Manobo people who live in clusters of wood and bamboo houses built on rafts of floating logs.

A variety of local products that range from food (sayongsong, suman roll, bingangkal, empanaditas, moledo, chicken barbeque and others), accessories, wooden crafts, and furniture are likewise featured and for sale.

Vibrant cultural shows are performed every night at 7pm until 9pm at Clamshell I. Admission for the “Best of CARAGA” is free. It opens at 10:00am to 9:00pm Mondays to Sundays.
