Aboitiz Transport System (ATS), one of the country’s largest shipping operators, has purchased two second-hand roll-on/roll-off (RORO) passenger vessels from Japan worth $ 7.5 million each.

The MV Sunflower Kogane from The Diamond Ferry Co, Ltd. Oita, Japan and MV Sunflower Nishiki from Kansai Kisen Kaisha each has a 9,700 gross tonnage, 400-twenty-foot equivalent unit capacity and can carry about 2,000 passengers. Delivery is expected next month.

Philippine Travel Tour Expo 2010

Philippine tourism never had it so good in 2009. In a 2009 year-end report by Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Joseph Ace Durano, late Friday, he said total tourist traffic in the top 14 destinations last year reached 8.9 million for a 14 percent growth.

Not only did they justify their lead roles, they likewise made perfect partners in promoting tourism in Bicol, where the film was entirely shot. Most scenes visited me, reminding me of the wonderful memories I have of my Sorsogon-Albay sojourn a few summers back—courtesy of Cebu Holiday Tours and Travel’s Ricky Tio.
